The coach of the US All-Navy Women's Volleyball team called me. "Can
you make me a thin dry erase board that I can attach to the back of my
clipboard?" We talked a bit. He sent me some ideas for artwork. I
made him a handful of boards, and they came out so nice that you're now
going to get to see three variations of that board.
These are self-adhesive and easy to use- you just peel the protective
paper from the back and attach them to your clipboard (please be sure
the back of your clipboard is clean and dry). Actual size of the dry erase
board is right around 8" x 10." Here's what the "Basic"
volleyball board looks like:
No, the clipboard is not included. But we do include a black dry
erase marker and a gripper assembly to hold the marker.
You can use the board for club, high school, or college games.
Keep track of your player rotation, time outs, and substitutions.
There's even enough room on the left side to write down the numbers
(or names if you write small) of the players available to sub.

Now, you've probably never done anything like this, but when I
coached soccer, there was an occasion or two when I left my clipboard
on the sidelines at the soccer field. If you've ever done anything

Revised board artwork: A high school volleyball coach told me
she likes to keep track of the other team's subs and time-outs, so she

Customized Volleyball Board
You've no doubt noticed that this board is a little different than
the "Basic" board. It is the same size. It comes with

this case, that is a school address and phone number, plus the coach's name.

The third variant of the board I made for the All Navy Women's
Volleyball team carries the customization one step further.
I've been asked if the rotation circles are printed on the
artwork or if they actually rotate. The rotation circles are printed on
the board and do not rotate.

of actual size). I'll probably make a few minor changes to the top third,
but this should give you an idea of what we're working on:
And while we're showing things we're switching to, here's a picture of

The clip is attached to a strap. Just thread the strap around the clip
assembly on you clipboard, and you have a place to hold either your pen
or a rag to wipe your board (I use an old fabric softener dryer sheet
- it works well and if I lose one, its no big loss.

On my clipboard, the spring was a bit off center and I had to push it
to the side to make enough room for a clip on each side of the spring.
I'm real happy with the way these clip things work, and will be including
two clips with each board.
