Larger Pictures of Team ButtonsHere are larger pictures of some of the team buttons. Actual size of the buttons is 2.25" in diameter. Please keep in mind that the colors you see on your screen probably won't match the colors on the actual buttons. Parent Buttons
So I looked through my clip art and found some pictures of basketball players and basketballs. None of it was quite right, so I used some of this and some of that to come up with the button you see on the left. I was pretty happy with the button - it had all the information they were looking for, included the correct school colors, and even had a picture of a basketball. So I sent this picture off with a little note that said "what do you think?" And the answer I got back was that the button was okay, but not really what they were looking for. They faxed me a sketch of what they had in mind, and I went back to the drawing board.
So there I was, with a second design that I liked better than the first design. But there was still something that didn't sit right. After some playing with the artwork, I realized I wasn't thrilled with the size and placement of the player's name. With this second design, I had to keep the type relatively small in case we had some names that were longer than "Jerry" or "Smith." So, once again, back to the drawing board. Well, actually, that isn't right - I don't use a drawing board, I use a computer or two. So it was actually "back to the computer." And, would you look at this - the revised button has much more room for the players name, and I can fit a pretty doggone long name on the button without making the type smaller. If you ever meet someone named Alexanjoria Wilmingtonson, would you let them know I've got a button they can have?
That curved text at the top looked to me like it was a bit out of place with everything else on the button being horizontal. So I put in another horizontal band with the school colors and put the school name inside the band. I don't know about you, but I like all four of these buttons. I just happen to like this one the best. What do you think? If you were buying buttons for your team, would you pick this last one, or would you go for one of the others?
If you like this one (or any of the others), please remember that I can easily change the colors, and the basketball can be replaced by a soccer ball, football, tennis racket, or a whole bunch of other things. You'll end up with a button that parents, grandparents, siblings, boyfriends, and girlfriends can wear to show who they're supporting. Of course, if none of these "float your boat," I can do another design based on what you have in mind. Just let me know what kind of button you're looking for.
