Step 1 - Gather all your pictures, put them in order, and number them.Use a three digit number to identify each picture. Your first picture is "001." Your second picture is "002." Your third picture is "003," and so on. You probably shouldn't write the number on the back of your pictures, unless you've had copies printed specifically to send to us. You might write the code number on a small sheet of paper and use rubber cement to attach the number to the back of the photograph, or maybe use a Post-It note. Step 2 - Boot up your favorite word processor create a new documentAt the beginning of the document, please put the following:
Click here to see a sample document (not working yet) As you work with your document, be sure to save it often. Step 3 - Write the introduction for the "Introduction Page."You can select up to two of your pictures to include on this page, one at the top and one at the bottom. The price for the Memory CD is based on the number of photographs scanned, so if these pictures are also used on the picture pages, there is no additional charge for putting them here. Please make sure you include the code number of the picture(s) you want on this page. Step 4 - Write a short overview or summary to go at the top of the "Index Page" of thumnail imagesStep 5 - Describe each photographBe sure to type in the picture's code number, and be very sure the code number on the back of the photograph matches the code number in the description. When you identify people in your pictures, you might want to use each person's full name. You may know very well who "Aunt B" is, but will your great grand children know "Aunt B" is really your mom's friend, "Janet Rapenszikwski," and you called her "Aunt B" because as a child you couldn't pronounce her last name and she was always working with her bee hives when you went to visit? Click here (this doesn't work yet) for some helpful tips and ideas for writing your descriptions Step 6 - Write a conclusion to go on the last page of your "web page on CD."Also select the photograph you'd like to have put on this page, and be sure to include its code number. Step 7 - Make sure everything is picture perfectProof-read your document, run a spell check, and maybe even have someone else read your descriptions. Step 8 - Save all that information on a floppy disk or E-mail it to usOur E-mail is rob@ccreations.com. Step 9 - Calculate your total cost for the Memory CD.Remember, there is a $75 minimum order, so your Memory CD should include at least 10 pictures. The base cost is:
Add in charges for any optional services (follow this link for complete descriptions):
Step 10 - Download, print and sign the releaseWhich says that you own the copyright to all pictures you're sending us, and you recognize that while we'll make every effort to return your photos to you in original condition, we can't be responsible for damage during shipment, and if your photographs are lost, damaged or stolen, our liability is limited to the cost of replacement film and standard developing. Geeezzzz...that makes it sound like we're likely to bend, fold, spindle and mutilate your pictures. We won't. We'll treat your photographs with the same care we treat our irreplaceable wedding photographs. If your pictures were taken by a professional photographer (maybe your wedding pictures?), the photographer probably owns the copyright to the photographs. Before you have those photographs scanned for your Memory CD, you should contact the photographer and get permission. In most cases, the photographer will readily agree. Occasionally, photographers will request a reprint fee for any scans or copies made. Follow this link to the release form (not working yet) Step 11 - Carefully package everything and ship it to us
That's all there is to it. When we receive your photographs, we'll scan them, create your Memory CD web site, upload an approval copy of your Memory CD web site to our web pages, and then send you E-mail letting you know that your Memory CD web site is uploaded and ready for your approval. After reviewing the web pages, you can send us a revised copy of your descriptions and the balance of your payment. We'll then revise your descriptions, create your Memory CD's and ship everything to you via UPS.
